Coffe shop Succubi

Been a good while sense I have made a post so here ya go!  So I blame these graphic horrific drawings on a bad combination of too much coffee and far to many sweet old ladies in a cramped environment.

Hope you enjoy these as much as I do

Cheers!

Oh One last thing, if its not to late start from the bottom and work your way up posted out of order.  My bad...

succubus take 3

This one is anatomically whack, so sorry bout that, and apparently colored pencil is impossible to erase who would have guessed!  However, despite its many flaws I do enjoy the rather phallic head design on this one.

succubus take 2

Again working abstractly.  Not to thrilled about this design but I like the head ornaments, and always been a fan of high healed crow feet appendages!  Tried incorporating some black outine marker work to pop out the silhouette, looks good when done correctly but I feel I deff dropped the ball on this one.  Better luck next year.

Why I shouldnt draw without something in mind

Stressed from school so I tried a more abstract approach to generating ideas.  Clear your head and start drawing shapes and see what happens, picked up from Carlos Huante who has been a big inspiration for me on this next project which deals with Succubuses or succubi whatever.  Very enjoyable yet disturbing to do but glad i got this one out of my system.  Strong believer in embracing the strange and bizarre in order to keep your sanity!  More to come

speed paint tank

Not as detailed as I would have liked but I kind of enjoy its graphic quality. I spent a good percentage of the hour on perspective, which could still use some work, a tad on the janky side.  Perspective has always been a weakness of mine from the simple to the complex, so I will most likely be doing a number of these in the future.
Sketch group part 2 theme; illustrate a kung fu style.  Hopefully its obvious but if not ill give you a hint.  Its monkey style.

revisions

Had critique today, got some good feedback, did some revisions nothing to drastic just some minor changes to take it to the next level.

Bird creature process

Been playing around with various processes for starting paintings in photoshop, trying to figure out what works for me.  I've used this grayscale process once or twice with not so great out comes.  However, I stuck with it, and feel allot better about this one than my previous botched attempts. My main problem was rigging my grayscale, I pushed both darks and lights to strong which causes multiple problems when you glaze over color.  By keeping my grayscale more mid-tone it allowed me to build up my values with color without getting to dark or washed out.

Creature

Inspired by a various assortment of birds, lizards, and dimorphodons.  Predator type, hunts in packs of 3 to 8 and lives in the same environment of my previous bird dude.

Sketch Group

Did a sketch group thing with some friends, topic old school movie monster remake.  Naturally I choose the Brain From Planet Arous pic of the original and my take on the monster.
