Finally settled on a design I like for my upcoming illustration.  My first beast layouts didn't quite match the size ration I was looking for plus they looked far to warg like from lord of the rings so I decided to take a different route.  This creature is based off the giant sloth, elephant seal, bear, and gorilla.

Its been a while sense I have done a tight pencil rendering.  Quite satisfying, nothing beats graphite!  Ideally I should have a painted grayscale version within the next few hours.  Shooting for no more than 3 hours.

Beginning of the End

Well this is my last semster at rmcad and than my college days are officially over, not sure where the time went.  Regardless, I plan on making the best of the few months I have left and use them to build a strong portfolio and pursue career out in the real world.  Heres some roughs and concepts for what will enventualy develop into finshed paintings.  I will be working strictly digital this semster, although I will prolly do some traditional painting in my free time.  As great a tool as photoshop is, there is nothing quite like breathing in toxic fumes and picking dried paint from under your fingernails!  

I am also debating on going back to only posting thumbs and sketches on this blog and saving all the new finished stuff for my up and coming website.  Will see.

Its going to be a productive last semester, much more to come!  Thanks for the views  

Underwater Dude

I was feeling guilty over the past few weeks of goofing off and felt Obligated to at-least finish one painting over the break so here it it is.  I drew up this angler fish character about a month a go and figured it was way over due.  Pretty pleased with the outcome, I learned allot from it and think its a good starting point and building block for my last semester at RMCAD.
